The School Year is Fast Approaching!!

It is that time of year again, School Time!!

Just a few short days, if not already, all our little darlins' will be back in school to get some knowledge! So right now moms and dads are running around searching the stores for that list of supplies that everyone else is also looking for... UGH!! Some are feeling successful at finding all 24 sticks of glue and the ever elusive Pink Pearl erasers x3!  HAHHAHHA!  Some are biting their tongues while some are not, because someone just got the last package of wide ruled notebook paper...which by the way was the last thing they needed to be done!  Now the shopping and searching must go on... ugh!!!

Well for us, we are also getting ready for school.  This is the first time that my boys have ever attended a school other than our little hometown school back in Alto, Texas!  Home Sweet Home!  We also have the school shopping to do...  I bought some clothes for them before we left Texas, but wouldn't you know Clay has continued to grow...surprise kids grow!  LOL  So the other two are still good for the start of school but Clay is going to need some new shorts because they were at his knees and now they are about an inch above his knees.  School dress code states that they must be at or below the knees.  As far as school supplies go, well I still don't know exactly what each one will need so we are going to stick with the basics... paper, pens, pencils, glue, markers, and crayons.  That should get us through the first couple of days until I get a more accurate list.  One of the things that we had to buy for Clay was a MacBook Pro!  Yeah, every high school student takes their personal MacBook to classes with them each day.  Joshua will be assigned a school issued MacBook that will be only used at school, and not to be taken home, but we will need to purchase him a laptop bag and laptop hard case.  Clay also had to have the hardcase and bag.  So friends, when you are complaining about how much school supplies cost just think, you could have had to purchase a $1300 laptop..ugh!!!  Craziness!  Of course Clay thought it was awesome!  LOL

As you all know I am a teacher, and this is the first year that I will not be going to school in some capacity like all the other teachers and students.  I am kind of missing that first week of meetings and laughing with fellow teachers.  Some may think I am a little crazy but I am a teacher through and through!  It's what I do... It's who I am!  Soooo, I am going to sub when I am needed!!  There are a few different American schools here, and I am going to be adding my name to their sub lists in the next few days!  I am sure that if they are anything like the schools in the states, one could make a full time job out of being a substitute teacher.  Someone is always out for some reason or another....  Hey, it's teaching without the planning!  LOL  Of course I will miss the planning too... Most likely next school year I will be teaching somewhere full time!

So take pictures, check homework, watch your child participate in sports, band, plays, choir... Whatever they are doing, be there for it!  They are only little for a short time and then you blink and they are grown!!
