Pictures from around Abu Dhabi

Here are a few pictures from around Abu Dhabi....  There are so many more things to take pictures of.  This doesn't even come close!  Take a trip!

Dubai pictures... more from our trip!

So I promised that as soon as downloaded the pictures from my camera, that I would post them.  So here they are.  I am amazed at the architectural design that they have put into their buildings.  So I will not write much for this post and I will just let the pictures speak for themselves!  So get ready for a little sight seeing mini-vacation!
(Shops/stores in the bottom & apartments above!)

This blogger is very difficult to manage when posting pictures.  It doesn' allow you to place the pictures where you want them... It is very frustrating!  I hope that you are still enjoying what you see!
(Very intersting shopping cart!)

So many different buildings just rising up from the desert!  You drive along and see virtually nothing.  No houses....the occasional gas station and then...POOF! There is a city!

Forgot to add to my last post...

I apologize!  My last post mentioned the ski slope that is inside the Mall of the Emirates in Dubai, and I neglected to post pictures.  So please take a look at these....  (when we go back to actually participate in this activity, then I will be able to post better pictures)

Another thing that you will find in every home and in every building is a bathroom that we as Americans are not used to.  They either have a bidet in them or they have a hose with a spray attachment.  It is simply amazing to me that those who use these things do not get their clothes all wet.  I would probably look like a drowned rat if I tried their methods of cleanliness...LOL!  Check it out...

Trip to Dubai

We went to Dubai this past weekend on a mission to find the ONE and ONLY store in this country that sells baseball stuff.  No, I am not exaggerating!!  ONE store in the whole country that has baseball gloves, balls, and bats!  So we set out for Dubai, which is about an hour from Abu Dhabi.  We navigated the crazy drivers and streets until we successfully arrived at our destination!  It is a very small store but clean. (Avid shoppers know how important a clean store is...)  Choices are limited in this limited store, but we needed a couple of new gloves and some baseballs.  Can't play catch without them.....  Kids grow too fast!  Plus baseball season for the Dubai Little League begins in a couple of months, so we need to warm those arms and gloves back up!!!

After we had purchased what we needed, we ventured over to one of the many malls, Mall of the Emirates, for lunch and to scope out the indoor ski slope that we have heard so much about.  The mall is beautifully decorated and has many top designer stores that I wouldn't be able to afford even on clearance (Dior, Gucci, Loius Vuiton, just to name a few) ....LOL!  Here are a few pictures of some things we saw on our way to the mall as well as the inside of the mall.

I have several other pictures from Dubai that I will post in a later post.  I have not downloaded them from my regular camera yet, all of the pictures above were from my phone.  The engineering design of the buildings in Dubai and in Abu Dhabi are amazing!  Some of them make you say, "How did they do that?" or "That is really neat looking!"  Stay tuned.....
