So if you are friends with me on Facebook, then you have seen the pictures of Joshua's class trip to Turkey. How amazing! Simply an awesome opportunity! That being said.... Man, I have to admit I have a tad bit of jealousy going on! LOL... I truly hope that kid is realizing how awesome this is! He is seeing and doing things that only happen once in a lifetime! For some this kind of thing never happens....
Joshua is walking over, through, around, and under actual HISTORY! He and his classmates are walking along paths that were traveled by Roman soldiers, Spartans, Gladiators, Alexander the Great, and so many more! These are ruins of once massive, grand places, and although they are not what they once were, they are still spectacular sights that are impressive in size as well as the sheer fact that architecturally they have withstood natural and man-made disasters...erosion, storms, earth shifts, war....
Simply amazing!
The teachers even created a mock challenge of "Olympic Games" in the Hippodrome! Sounds like a fun trip for all involved! Hopefully he remembers that he has a camera and is taking lots of pictures of all this memory making material for his momma!! (In the meantime, here are a few pictures given to me by the mommas that were able to go....lucky!!! LOL)
